Lorenzo Colombani.

An AI product designer and developer who builds AI products, learning systems and interactive web experiences.

In one paragraph

I’m an AI product designer and developer. I make humans and machines intelligible to each other — AI products, learning systems, interactive web experiences, with the work running on the page of this site. Three things you can hire me for: I build AI tools for your team, working software designed with the people who’ll use it. I train and coach people, and build AI-powered interactive courses they keep using after I’ve left. And I’m available on retainer, for a few clients at a time.

Three practices

AI products

Applied AI products: tools for human–AI collaboration, agent workflows, permissions and trustworthy operation. Lead proof: OpenBots.

Learning systems

Learning systems that turn complex material into structured practice, feedback and usable understanding. Lead proof: Data Vault Foundations.

Interactive web experiences

Web experiences in which information, typography, motion, sound and code work together to create meaning. Lead proofs: TVA Case File and The Bridge.

Background, and what it contributes

Background in learning design (Chief Learning Officer at MCR until 2022), French law, court mediation and negotiation — which is why the products I build handle rules, incentives and trust.

  • Law — an LL.M. from Penn Carey Law as a Fulbright scholar, and the French bar exam (CAPA): I design for constraints and for how a rule will be read.
  • Court mediation — mediator listed by the Paris Court of Appeal: I design for incentives and for trust between parties who do not share one.
  • Negotiation — Getting More Senior Instructor: I design for what people actually want, not what they say first.
  • Philosophy and research — an M.Phil. from the Sorbonne and a master’s from Sciences Po: I design with definitions that hold.

How the work is done

I design the product and make the technical calls — architecture, stack, interactions — then direct AI coding tools that build to my spec. I review and test everything that ships.

Every method I use ships as a working tool — if it can’t be used without me in the room, I haven’t finished it.
