Video
A sardonic anthem for anyone who has been told to just smile through it — witty lyrics against an upbeat tune, spotlighting the irony of hollow cheer, in the manner of Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq.
Behind the experience
Well, That’s Just Great is a sardonic music video about being told to smile through difficult feelings.
Its public description pairs witty lyrics with an upbeat tune and names Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. as a stylistic reference. The contrast is the point: cheerful presentation makes the hollow encouragement more apparent.
Project notes
An upbeat sound carries a critical response to empty cheer. The humour depends on the tension between the tune and what the words are saying.
The published description identifies the manner of Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. as an influence. It does not credit him as a collaborator on this piece.
