Behind the experience
This video presents SaberLab, the app Lorenzo built to configure a reprogrammable lightsaber. The demonstration reaches beyond the screen to the actual saber.
Presets, sounds and blade styles are brought together before a configuration is written to the hilt. The app remains unreleased; the public film is the way to see it in action.
Project notes
The accompanying case study describes building a configuration, writing it into the hilt and then igniting the saber and triggering effects from the app.
The case study discloses that Palpatine’s voice in the demo is AI-generated. The project is independent fan work, with the original sound and franchise ownership acknowledged.
